A New Year and a Final Patch

A New Year and a Final Patch

It’s been a while since I’ve sat down to do one of these, so, hello! Thanks to everyone who has stuck around with our team – it’s been a crazy few months and there’s so much to talk about.

For those who don’t know, we’re currently working on our final patch. But don’t worry! This is going to be the biggest content update to date, and it’s filled with so much stuff! When Mhin showed me the list of everything he had planned, well, let’s say I was extremely surprised.

It’s sad to be finishing up on Prodigal, but I think it’s an overall good thing – we’re finally tying up some loose ends, and bringing a close to our first game!

I’ll probably spend another blog post lamenting on everything we’ve done – and how far everyone has grown. It’s crazy to think there was a time I thought I would just give up on writing, but yet I’m still here, writing more words than I think I ever have. (Side note, my typing speed has improved immensely.)

Overall, I really think this patch is the best one yet. There are a couple of new characters we’re bringing, new dungeons, and townsfolk or two will get their moment in the spotlight. I’ll be sharing more with you as we continuing working on it, but for now, thank you again.

Without you guys, none of this would be possible.

Music and a New Hire

Music and a New Hire

On the note of music, it’s been about a week since we’ve tried to upload everything to Spotify and iTunes, and man, has it been annoying. We ended up having to fix the title and the picture to fit their requirements – and I sent that in yesterday so here’s hoping it finally gets approved.

So hello! Happy Monday, I hope everyone had a good Halloween. This Monday marks the first day of our bosses’ vacation, that we had to force him to take. He’s been bug fixing non-stop since our release, and we figured it was finally a good time for him to chill for a bit, haha.

On another note, we hired someone! It’s super exciting news, and someone we’re all personally close to. Crystal’s been doing incredible art for so long, and we knew she would be an amazing asset to have to go into Xenocite Development. You can check out her Twitter here: https://twitter.com/ABottleofStars (some of her stuff is a little NSFW so be mindful if you’re on a work computer!)

Overall, we just want to say thank you for the continued support, we all love making games and can’t wait to show you what else we have up our sleeve.

Speaking of…did you hear? A new marriage may be in your future, someone very close to Crocodile.

Halloween Update

Halloween Update

As Halloween approaches, so does our next update, which has been a fun but taxing struggle to get out in time.

First, comes Tess, a highly requested marriage option, who is now, marry-able? She was interesting to write, as she tends to fall asleep… a lot. So the main struggle for me at least was making it seem believable but also not annoying – we still needed to get character development in there somehow.

So aside from making her realistically fall asleep, she ended up being one of the girls with the most dialogue, which is fun but also makes me feel like I need to go back and add to the other girls – which I most likely will do. I think they could really use some more dialogue post-marriage, you know?

Aside from my struggles with the writing, our CEO and programmer Mhin has also put together a new dungeon…which may be attached to Tess. But don’t fear, you won’t have to marry her to experience it. Just be prepared for some…spooky occurrences.

Overall things seem to be going well in the Colorgrave world, the dungeon seems to be working correctly and I managed to finish the writing in time – so I hope you’re all as excited as I am for this new update!
